How to remove collars

1. Analyze the Situation

Before taking any action, determine whether the removal attempt is reasonable and within hands of the players.

  • Is the person attempting to remove the collar capable of doing so?
  • Is it a self-removal attempt?
  • Are they using extreme measures (cutting off a hand, leg, wrist) to escape the collar?
  • What is the context for the scene?
  • What information do we have on the remote holder and/or the prisoner?

Remember to ask for context and informations before making a decision.

2. Collar Tampering

If a player is attempting to interfere with a collar (through artificing or similar):

  • Inform all involved parties that the remote holder will be alerted.
  • This includes:
    • The remote holder.
    • The prisoner.
    • The individual attempting to free the prisoner.
    • Others present in the scene.
  • If the warden (remote holder) is online, they must be ticketed and alerted of the situation (the remote will alert them).
  • They are free to decide if they wish to contest or not; a scene-lock may be requested until they are present.
  • Once present in the scene, they are free to continue and escalate from there.

3. Self-Escape Attempts

If the prisoner is attempting to escape on their own:

  • Analyze how long they have been a prisoner, what are the future plans of the faction for them and who is their remote holder.
  • If they are approved for a escape
    • Narrate the escape appropriately.
    • If other characters are present, they may attempt to pursue or stop the escape.
    • If no one is present to intervene, the prisoner is considered to have escaped and the collar may be removed.
  • If they are not approved, remind them of the Prisoner Rules (insert link for rules, forum or otherwise).
warning

Escape attempts must still comply with all prisoner guidelines.

Self-escape attempts often require consideration of several factors, including:

  • Magi strength
  • Knowledge of collars and their operation
  • Time spent imprisoned
  • Any other relevant contextual factors

Always request and review scene logs before making a final decision.

4. Removing the Collar

Once the situation has been properly reviewed and approved:

  1. Debug the prisoner.
  2. Open their bag variable.
  3. Open the collar variable.
  4. Set the energy variable to 10.

The collar will automatically fall off on the next tick.
